2027 Toyota 4Runner Engine, Interior, Price
2027 Toyota 4Runner Engine, Interior, Price – The only vehicle worth considering if you’re looking for a time machine on four wheels is the Toyota 4Runner. At least for the time being, this is accurate. Among Canada’s current automobile options, the fifth-generation body-on-frame sport utility vehicle (SUV) from Toyota is the most antiquated. The machine’s stellar reputation as a tough, long-lasting, and trail-ready workhorse is well-deserved. The initial publication was made little over fifteen years ago.
Even though there will be a new and improved model coming out the next year, the 2027 Toyota 4Runner shows that the old adage “if it ain’t broke, it’s not broke” works really well in the car industry. But what really matters is how it’s carried out. Nothing matters to anybody else. 2027 Toyota 4Runner Engine

2027 Toyota 4Runner Redesign and Update Plan
Exterior and Interior
We often miss the days of classic hydraulic steering since it was more fun to drive, even if current cars use electrical systems to power the steering. The 4Runner’s hydraulic rack may provide more feedback, but our tester saw some muted responses due to the slow ratio, the TRD Off Road package, and the tires’ soft sidewall protection. While driving faster than the posted limit on winding, steep mountain roads, the 4Runner swung crazily around corners and nearly kissed the tarmac with a spectacular drop when the brakes were used, making the experience terrifying.
This vehicle may first frighten anyone used to modern SUVs because to its seemingly delayed responses at high speeds. Something like this is transpiring since the vehicle is traveling at such a high pace. Even at highway speeds, the 4Runner doesn’t need as much steering adjustment as a Wrangler. However, because to its actual tracking, it is a more serene cruiser, ideal for exploring a wide range of destinations.
It stands to reason that judging the 4Runner’s handling just on smooth roads ignores half of the possible environments. Drivers who are trying to maintain traction on rough terrain can benefit from a delayed response time. This is because it is now much more difficult to keep one’s grip on the road. The 4Runner that was tested here successfully traversed difficult, rocky terrain and steep inclines without ever losing its balance. This has been accurate throughout the whole test. This was the case even though the vehicle had winter tires instead of all-terrain ones.
Even though the Toyota 4Runner can seat five adults comfortably (or seven in the Limited trim), the SUV lives up to its practicality claims. The area behind the second-row seats offers an additional 1,300 liters of cargo capacity, which can be folded down to 2,540 liters, creating a quite roomy area.
A Class IV hitch receiver and a wobble reduction mechanism were also standard on the 4Runner. Its maximum draw would be at 2,268 kilograms, or around 5,000 pounds. When it comes to capabilities, this vehicle completely outshines the Bronco and the Wrangler. Throughout the course of the test, many 4Runner owners from Vancouver Island were observed making effective use of the standard roof rails. It was a long list that included tents, bike racks, kayak racks, and a lot more besides.
2027 Toyota 4Runner Specs
Engine and Performance
Aside from the transmission, no component of the 4Runner can transport the driver to a bygone era. In a car, the gearbox is an auxiliary part. Instead of using turbochargers or tiny electric motors, the whole 270 horsepower of the 4.0-liter V6 engine comes from carefully calculating 5,600 revolutions. Since the 4Runner’s maximum torque of 278 pound-feet is only attained at 4,400 revolutions per minute, it may seem lethargic and wheezy when compared to competitors’ upgraded motors.
The 4Runner’s performance is more than sufficient to execute a pass without any previous preparation, even at highway speeds, thanks to its superb handling in urban circumstances. The 4Runner’s basic automatic gearbox is fantastic for downhill mountain rides following a trail ride, and it’s easy to transfer gears and use engine compression to stop wisely. The vehicle also has handy features beyond five speeds. On the flip side, shifting gears is effortless. In contrast to the problematic system in the Jeep Wrangler, shifting between high and low range is a precise operation on the 4Runner. When contrasted with the Jeep Wrangler system, the 4Runner system isn’t always dependable either.
2027 Toyota 4Runner Fuel Economy
Another reason the 4Runner consumes a lot of petrol is because it only has five speeds. A dismal 14.8 gallons per hundred kilometers is the rated performance in metropolitan settings. An additional 12.5 liters/100 km is achieved while traveling on the highway, bringing the total fuel economy to 13.8 liters/100 km.
Although I did spend some time exploring some logging roads, I mostly spent my test week on highways between Nanaimo, British Columbia, and Tofino and returned. As a result, I ended up with a score in the mid-twenties. What transpired was due to the fact that the two stages worked together. It blends well with other large off-roaders, such as the Ford Bronco Badlands. In terms of aesthetics, it’s comparable to other off-roaders as well. 2027 Toyota 4Runner Engine
2027 Toyota 4Runner Safety Features
Without contemporary safety features like lane keeping, the 4Runner takes us back to a simpler era when motorists had to take full responsibility for their acts on the road. Toyota wisely decided not to install parking sensors on the bumpers because the vehicle would most likely be operated off-road for an extended period of time.
2027 Toyota 4Runner Price and Release Date
The stripped-down 4Runner, an extremely basic vehicle, can be yours for $55,000 (not including taxes). Buyers interested in putting the $60,000 4Runner through its paces on rough terrain will find the TRD Off Road option an attractive addition. Prepare to shell out a few grand extra for skid plates, beefier tires, and perhaps even a little bump if you want your trail-ready Wrangler or Bronco to stay put and not bounce off rocks.
Despite the TRD Pro’s more extensive collection of features out of the box, the main disadvantage is the large price hike. If you own this vehicle, you can get aftermarket parts and accessories that are both affordable and functionally equivalent to what came from the manufacturer. Many Jeep Wrangler Willys and Bronco Big Bend four-door variants are available for around the same price as this 4Runner. The 4Runner standard features are the same across all of these trims. 2027 Toyota 4Runner Engine
