2027 Toyota Prius Specs, Interior, Exterior
2027 Toyota Prius Specs, Interior, Exterior – The 2027 Toyota Prius has undergone a radical redesign, so you can no longer dismiss it as an ungainly small vehicle purchased only for its fuel efficiency. With its standard all-wheel drive (AWD), it’s more powerful than before, has undergone extensive interior and exterior remodeling, and is a joy to drive. Two trim levels are available, with the XLE beginning at $38,510 (not including the $1,860 non-negotiable delivery cost).
I drove the $44,850 Limited, the top-tier model. The Prius Prime plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version is another option; it is available in three different trim levels and costs $40,010 to $48,850 (not including taxes and incentives). 2027 Toyota Prius Specs

Exterior and Interior
Passengers shouldn’t be very tall because the Prius has limited headroom. You can fit longer items in the 575 L baggage compartment with the back seats folded flat. There’s also a storage bin hidden under the cargo floor. Front-mounted small-item storage is top-notch, with a horizontal phone holder that also serves as the wireless charger, a pocket for concealing smaller objects, and an additional spot to store things on top. Both have a couple of the many “Easter eggs” that the Prius is known for, which are embedded with hashtags.
Only two paint colors and dealer-installed equipment, such door protection mouldings, are available as extras on the base model Prius. Along with 19-inch wheels, automatic temperature control, eight-inch touchscreen in the center, power driver’s seat, heated fake leather front seats, heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and more, the XLE trim level offers a number of additional amenities.
Limited models also come with a power hatch, wireless phone charger, self-parking system, 12.3-inch central touchscreen, premium sound, heated and ventilated front seats, memory for the driver’s side, a digital mirror for the rearview, and a fixed glass roof. A remote app and access to subscription-based connecting services are trial offers on both models. There is a Google-based connection service that both models may utilize, with the XLE having access to it permanently and the Limited having it included for a trial period of three years.

Engine and Performance
A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque; this is the engine used in the Prius. It has 196 horsepower between its two electric motor-generators. Compared to the previous Prius, which had a 1.8L engine and produced 121 horsepower total, it is a significant improvement. Having that more power is great, particularly while passing on the highway.
The front wheels are driven, as previously, by an automated continuously variable transmission (CVT). When further traction is required, all-wheel drive is engaged, and an additional electric motor drives the back wheels. Regenerative braking allows the lithium-ion hybrid battery to charge itself without the need for an external power source. If you’re looking for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with extended range on battery power alone, the Prius Prime is a great option.
2027 Toyota Prius Fuel Economy
With a combined rating of 4.8 L/100 km, NRCan rates the Prius at 4.7 L/100 km on the highway and 4.8 L/100 km in the city. With that, I was able to complete my week a bit higher, at 5.4. Use 87-octane gas to power it. Even though it’s bigger and more powerful than the 2022 Prius, its combined 4.8 L/100 km remains identical. 2027 Toyota Prius Specs
2027 Toyota Prius Safety Features
The new Prius had not yet received its IIHS ratings at the time article was being written. Backup cameras, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam lights, lane-keeping and tracing assistance, emergency front braking with pedestrian detection, and other safety features are, nevertheless, mandatory on all new vehicles.
Additionally, compared to the previous Prius, certain assistance functions have been upgraded. Improved front detection for motorcyclists, pedestrians, and cyclists is just one of the many new features of the emergency braking system. Adaptive cruise control now has four following-distance settings, up from three, and the Prius can slow down and stop on its own in the event that you are unable to steer—for example, due to a medical emergency—as well.
2027 Toyota Prius Price and Release Date
Prius is a bit pricy in its tiny category of comparable sized hybrid cars, with two trim levels costing $38,510 and $44,850, respectively. While the base front-wheel-drive trim of the Toyota Corolla Hybrid costs $27,750 and the top-of-the-line all-wheel-drive version costs $36,050, the Hyundai Elantra has just one hybrid model that costs $31,074 before taxes. At the same time, you may get incentives from the federal, provincial, and territory governments on the Prius Prime, which costs $40,010 to $48,850. 2027 Toyota Prius Specs
